Eric and his family came to Brainard in March 2020, after he previously served as a pastor at churches in Alabama and New Jersey. He and his wife Clarissa both grew up in the Chicago area, and they have three sons, Thomas, Grant, and Andrew. Eric earned a Master of Divinity from Bob Jones University and a Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also serves as a volunteer chaplain for the Countryside Police. He loves to read, explore cities, play sports, cheer for Chicago sports teams (Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Northwestern, and Notre Dame, in that order), roast coffee, bake breads and desserts, grill meat, and spend time with Clarissa and the boys.
